Sailor's Reality is an informational transparency platform where seafarers anonymously share their experiences of shipping companies — covering salary, promotion timelines, relief reliability, work culture, food quality, overtime, crew mix, internet and life onboard. The goal is to help seafarers make more informed career decisions.

Sailor's Reality is not a recruitment agency, employer, or manning office. We do not guarantee employment, do not process payments, and do not provide financial, legal, or career advice.

Almost everything you read here is submitted anonymously by other seafarers. Reports reflect the personal experiences and opinions of the people who submitted them at a particular time, on a particular vessel, under a particular manning office. They are not statements of fact verified by Sailor's Reality.

When you contribute, you agree that you will:

• Share information honestly and based on your own genuine experience.
• Not post anything false, misleading, or defamatory.
• Not include personal data about yourself or others — no names, contact details, document numbers, or anything that identifies a specific individual.
• Respect that submissions become part of a public, community resource.

We do not verify every report. Information may be incomplete, outdated, biased, or simply wrong. Salary, promotion, and relief data in particular can change quickly. You use the information at your own risk. See our Disclaimer for details.

Nothing on Sailor's Reality is a promise about your future employment, salary, promotion, or relief. Reading positive reports about a company does not mean you will have the same experience.

Listing a company on Sailor's Reality is not an endorsement, recommendation, or criticism by us. We are a neutral platform. The presence, absence, or ordering of any company does not imply approval or disapproval.

You agree not to:

• Submit spam, advertising, or repeated duplicate reports.
• Post abusive, harassing, threatening, hateful, or discriminatory content.
• Impersonate a company, official body, or another person.
• Attempt to manipulate statistics, confidence levels, or rankings.
• Upload malicious code or attempt to disrupt, scrape, or attack the service.
• Use the platform for any unlawful purpose.

We use automated and manual checks to detect duplicate companies, spam, and abuse. Submissions that appear fake, promotional, or abusive may be hidden, flagged, or removed without notice.

We may, at our discretion, edit, merge, hide, flag, or delete any submission or company entry — for example to remove personal data, merge duplicate companies, or correct obvious abuse. We are not obligated to publish or retain any particular contribution.

We may restrict, suspend, or block access to anyone who violates these terms or misuses the platform, and we may withdraw or change the service at any time.

Sailor's Reality is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sailor's Reality is not liable for any decisions you make, or any loss or damage you suffer, as a result of relying on information found on the platform. Always do your own due diligence before accepting employment.

These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Where local mandatory consumer protections apply to you, those rights are not affected.

We may update these terms over time. Changes take effect when posted, indicated by the "Last updated" date above. Continuing to use Sailor's Reality means you accept the updated terms.
